Terminal-1 Information

Terminal-1 Silchar Airport

It is possible to fly the Boeing 737-800 and the Airbus A320 from the Silchar airport terminal. Free WiFi and free coffee are just some of the amenities you'll find at this location. An asphalt runway of 7500 feet (2286 meters) is available for use by the airport's aircraft. Here at the airport, the Precision Approach Path Indicator (06/24) and the Instrument Landing System (ILS) both provide visual aids to assist pilots in maintaining a proper approach (in the vertical plane) to the airport. These two lighting systems are located on either side of the runway to aid pilots in their arrival. The glide slope station, placed on one side of the runway landing zone, facing the runway (06/24), is an antenna array.

Silchar Airport was built as a Civil Enclave during World War II. ATC functions are provided by the Indian Air Force (IAF). There is a stunning view of the Barail Hill range from the airport's location. Silchar Airport is Assam's second busiest airport, behind only Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal, and the region's fourth busiest overall (with 200,000 passengers per year). Only Air India, Jet Airways, and Spice Jet are currently scheduled to fly into and out of Silchar Airport. On October 4th, 2016, the Silchar Airport welcomed Spice Jet service to Kolkata and Guwahati.
